By All Means
70 years ago this week Billy Graham began the Greater Los Angeles Revival meetings in a 6,000 seater tent on the corner of Hill Street and Washington Boulevard. The meetings were extended by several weeks and the tent capacity enlarged to 9,000 to hold the crowds wanting to hear the Gospel. On the night of the first extension, Billy Graham asked his team “How we can we stop when a new church is being born into the Kingdom of God every night?” By the end of November 1949 the news from the Los Angeles meetings was being reported all over America and it would propel Billy Graham and his team into a global ministry which would see millions reached with the Gospel and added to the church.

This week, Gary Stupple and I are travelling to New York to film six of our Big Story short evangelistic films with the landmarks and stories of Manhattan as the backdrop. We will be close to Madison Square Garden, scene of another of Billy Graham’s great adventures! He said at the time that New York was the most powerful city on earth and preaching the Gospel there meant preaching to the world. Evangelists across the generations have utilised every means possible to reach the masses with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and media has always been at the forefront. Today the internet provides us with endless opportunities to reach a global audience with our message and these online films are becoming more and more important in the overall mission and ministry of Miracle Street. A while ago I sensed the Lord say to me that he had called me to proclaim the Gospel indoors, outdoors and online. I am thrilled to be travelling to New York to make these short films and pray that God will continue to use them to reach people for him.
