Time & Eternity

“Now is the time of God’s favour and this is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2 The Bible)
Some say “Carpe Diem, seize the day, live the dream”. For others, life is a titanic struggle and the temptation to wish it all away is very real I guess. Whatever our relationship is with time and the process of living, the minute we are born the hourglass turns over.

The Bible tells us that God created time, he’s outside of its restraints but has stepped into it through Jesus his son. In New Testament Greek there are two words that are both translated in English Bibles as
Time. The Greek word Chronos is the idea of sequential time, the unfolding plan or the chronological process. The other word, Kairos, describes a moment that breaks into Chronos time. Kairos is used many times in the accounts of Jesus in fact twice as many times as Chronos. These moments occurred when Jesus engaged with a situation or a person, when a miracle occurred or when a life was changed forever.

Living as a follower of Jesus is a lifelong
Chronos adventure that starts with a Kairos moment of choice and then has many more along the way. God’s offer to us all is forgiveness for yesterday, strength for today and hope for tomorrow.
