Discover Our Story

Miracle Street is a Christian UK charity that has spent many years communicating and demonstrating the love of God beyond the walls of the church.

1980s · Miracle Street Founded

Miracle Street was born on the streets of the south of England as Steve Lee pioneered fresh ways of communicating the message of Jesus outdoors. He reached and entertained large crowds in those early days using baffling illusions and daring escapes.

1990s · The Roadshow Years

In the early 90’s the team grew and we travelled the length and breadth of the UK delivering a circus roadshow on the streets, parks and other places where people gather in large numbers.

2000 · The Mobile Stage

As the work grew, we looked for ways to take the message beyond the streets and onto housing estates. At the turn of the millennium, we received a custom-built seven-seater mobile stage truck and began travelling the country, reaching people far and wide.

2001 · The Bandwagon

Through a timely connection with Upstream Christian Initiatives, Miracle Street acquired a unique portable church that had just completed a five-year tour across Canada.
Built from four trailers and seating around 300 people, it was shipped to the UK and refurbished in Southampton, becoming our central base for taking the message into communities nationwide.

2003 · The Stage Trailer

Soon we added to the growing fleet of vehicles by taking delivery of a state of the art 30 tonnes stage trailer that we
immediately deployed to create city and area wide festivals working with bands, artists and local churches across a town
or city. This took us further into Europe with large events across Germany, Netherlands, France and Spain.

2014 · Big Story Festival

In 2014 Steve partnered with a large church in Winchester to deliver the week-long Big Story festival. He presented the Gospel visually and dramatically every night drawing crowds from across the whole region. It formed a template for many of our large gatherings that followed.

2016 · Calais Jungle Camp

A door opened for us into Calais during the devastating migrant crisis in France. We made the decision to place our Stage Trailer in the Calais Jungle camp, creating a base to support thousands of people in partnership with UK churches. While we were there, we supplied power to medical centres and food outlets, partnered with a Dutch IT company to provide wifi, protected unaccompanied young people, and supported a refugee church.

2018 · The Message Online
2025 · The Double-Decker Bus

We received a fully converted double-decker bus from Project Wingman, who had used it during the pandemic to support NHS staff across the UK. Today it serves as Miracle Street’s mobile outreach hub, connecting with young people, students and vulnerable adults. In 2025 alone, we reached over 2,000 students during Freshers’ Fortnight at the city’s two universities.
